A fun, delicious way to experience Rome, this hands-on cooking class invites young chefs to make Italy’s most beloved duo from scratch—crispy pizza and creamy gelato. Led by an English-speaking chef in a centrally located cooking school set inside a historic palazzo, the experience blends playful learning with authentic Italian flavors, perfect for families seeking an unforgettable activity in the heart of the city.
Children will create, roll and stretch their own dough, learn the secrets of good fermentation, and choose favorite toppings before sliding their pizzas into a blazing oven for that signature Roman crunch. The sweet finale explores the world of gelato: kids discover how a silky base comes together, how churning works, and how to swirl in seasonal ingredients for classic and creative flavors. Clear, confidence-building steps turn kitchen time into a mini masterclass—no prior experience needed.
Grown-ups are part of the fun. A relaxed welcome features prosecco or wine for adults and soft drinks for kids, followed by chef guidance that keeps everyone engaged. Families cook side by side, snap plenty of photos, and sit down together to enjoy the pizzas hot from the oven with homemade gelato for dessert. It’s a warm, social atmosphere that feels like an Italian family kitchen—only with a professional chef at the helm.
Classes take place in Rome’s historic center, within easy reach of major sights and hotels. The setting is intimate and air-conditioned, with plenty of space for little hands and big imaginations. Sessions are conducted in English and run for about two hours, making this the ideal dinner activity.
The menu is family-friendly and adaptable. Vegetarian toppings are always available, non-alcoholic beverages are provided for children, and simple gelato or sorbet options can be arranged upon request. Gluten-free dough may be prepared with advance notice, bearing in mind that the kitchen handles wheat and cross-contamination is possible. Please share any allergies at the time of booking so the team can plan accordingly. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is more than a kids’ activity—it’s a hands-on taste of Italy that brings families together around the table. Young cooks leave proud of what they’ve created, parents enjoy a relaxed and engaging culinary moment, and everyone learns insider tips that make pizza night and dessert time better forever.
