Cooking with Nonna
This 3-hour class equips you with all the know-how you need to conjure up real Italian cuisine. Spend a morning, afternoon, or evening with Rome’s favorite nonna and perfect the art of making two traditional dishes, topped off with some mouthwatering panna cotta. Read on to learn more!
Enjoy a prosecco and antipasti reception
Arriving at either our 17th-century palazzo next to Piazza Navona or our sleek, stylish school a stone’s throw away from the Pantheon, you’ll be greeted with a warm reception of prosecco and antipasti-style snacks.
This drinks and snacks reception provides the perfect opportunity to meet our nonna, your chef, before making your way into the kitchen.
Perfect the art of making three Roman dishes
Here’s where the fun starts. Following Nonna‘s expert guidance, you’ll dive into making and rolling out your own Italian gnocchi dough. Which sauces or fillings you use will depend on the time of year since we only source the freshest seasonal ingredients for our classes. But remember, you’re always welcome to specify if there’s a particular dish you’d like to learn.
As well as this, you’ll master the art of Italian meatballs: a classic that’s loved throughout the world. The perfect accompaniment to scrumptious gnocchi, this is the ultimate introduction to Italian cuisine. But we’re not done yet – dessert is yet to come!
Conjure up a mouthwatering panna cotta to accompany your mains
When in Rome, learn a sinfully sweet recipe to bring back home! Your nonna will share her secret to the perfect panna cotta. Craft this creamy, dreamy dessert from scratch before sitting yourself down at the dining table to indulge in what you’ve created.
Indulge in your meal with a choice of local wines, beers or coffee
At the end of this unique and unforgettable experience, you’ll have a chance to linger over a lunch or dinner of what you prepared in class, accompanied by a wide selection of soft and alcoholic drinks to suit every taste.
Buon appetito!
Reviews
After learning and practicing, we had a great meal tasting our products and drinking a lot of good wine and it was a real enjoyable experience
Chef Simone was so kind, funny and informative! He showed us why Romans make the pizza they make, how to make the sauce, and how to bake the pizza's in the oven. We tried our hand at Gelato too - genius! Such a great part of our trip!!!! Totally made the TOP of our list! Completely WORTH IT!!!! Such a fun experience, doing something off the beaten path, and so fun!!!! Our Pizza we made was THE BEST PIZZA we had in Rome!!!! Thin, crispy, enough sauce, basil, mozzarella, perfection!
The Gelato was out of this world too!!!! Rich and creamy! So fun to work with others, and with our family making something to eat and share! If you are looking for a unique experience to give you true credibility with your group, family and/or friends - this is truly a HOME RUN EXPERIENCE!!!! This will be a story of yours told for years to come!!!
Try to get Chef Simone, you would be so happy you did!!!!! He's great with kids, adults, those who can't stir, and those who think they can! LOL!!!! Super fun!!!! Enjoy yourself and have fun!!!! When in Rome .
