There’s no better way to experience Italy as a family than through food, and this hands-on cooking class turns one unforgettable Roman day into a memory your kids will talk about long after the trip is over.
Inside our elegant cooking school in the historic center of Rome, children become little pizzaioli and gelato makers for the day, guided step-by-step by our friendly English-speaking chefs. Parents cook alongside them, relax with a glass of wine, and enjoy an experience designed to feel authentic, interactive, and genuinely fun for all ages.
This isn’t a touristy demonstration or a “kids’ activity” tucked into a corner. It’s a real Italian cooking experience created for families who want to do something meaningful together while in Rome.
Flour flies, dough stretches, laughter fills the kitchen, and suddenly everyone is cooking like an Italian family.
Kids will learn how authentic Roman pizza is made from scratch, starting with fresh dough and simple high-quality ingredients. They’ll knead, shape, stretch, and top their own pizza before watching it bake in a blazing hot oven until perfectly crisp and golden.
Along the way, our chefs share fun stories and easy techniques that keep children engaged while giving parents a true taste of Italian culinary culture.
After pizza comes every child’s favorite part: gelato.
Families will explore how traditional Italian gelato differs from regular ice cream and discover the secrets behind its famously smooth and creamy texture. Kids can mix ingredients, learn about seasonal flavors, and watch the transformation from simple ingredients into fresh homemade gelato.
It’s educational without ever feeling like school: playful, sensory, and delicious from beginning to end.
Travel days can feel rushed. Museums can tire little travelers. This experience slows everything down and brings families together around the table the Italian way.
You’ll cook, eat, laugh, take photos, meet other travelers, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere inside one of Rome’s most beautiful cooking schools, just steps from Piazza Navona and the Pantheon.
For adults, prosecco and wine are included. For children, soft drinks and plenty of hands-on fun. Once the cooking is finished, everyone sits together to enjoy the pizzas they created and freshly made gelato for dessert.
Warm, welcoming, and wonderfully interactive, this class is perfect for families looking for something more personal than a standard tour.
