Learn to cook like a local in this small group class that tackles the Italian classics. The generational tradition of extended mealtimes will be stretched across three fun-filled hours, culminating in a well-deserved sampling of the fruits of your labor.
This interactive class will give you the true sense of nonna’s loving kitchen, whilst taking place in either a stunning 17th Century Palazzo next to Piazza Navona or in a sleek and stylish school just a stone’s throw from the Pantheon. Led by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English-speaking chef, our cooking masterclass is perfect for kids and adults, beginners and experts, and locals and tourists.
The class commences with a welcome glass of prosecco and an Italian appetizer to warm the taste buds.
Then, we’ll make the seemingly strange decision to delve straight into preparing the tantalizing tirmisù. Don’t worry, we aren’t skipping our mains. Instead, we’re ensuring the tiramisù has enough time to set before you can enjoy it.
Savoiardi (ladyfingers) are gently dipped in rich coffee before being layered with dollops of delicately mixed eggs and mascarpone. Finished off with a sprinkle of cocoa, these delicious desserts are set aside to rest in time for an after-dinner energy boost.
In fact, the espresso within a tiramisù is what gives it its name that translates literally as “pick me up!”
Rolling up our sleeves, here is where we channel our inner nonna. Mixing, kneading, rolling, and shaping our fresh pasta from scratch will work up a sweat but result in elegant end products.
We will then combine these carefully crafted creations with the flavors of the season and locality; be it tangy cacio e pepe, creamy carbonara, or saucy amatriciana.
The only thing left in this cooking class is to fill up on your very own Italian classics!
Celebrate the accomplishment with family-friendly company, a gorgeous setting, and wine and soft drinks.
