Tour Description

Farmers Market Shopping with Roman Full Course Cooking Class

Dive into the heart of Italian culinary culture with this immersive cooking experience in the heart of Rome. From market to table, you'll learn the secrets of authentic Roman cuisine with the guidance of a passionate English-speaking chef.

Start Your Day at Campo de’ Fiori

Your experience begins with a stroll through the historic Campo de’ Fiori farmers’ market, one of Rome’s most vibrant open-air markets. Here, alongside your chef, you’ll select fresh, seasonal ingredients that will inspire your menu for the day. Feel free to chat with local vendors, smell the herbs, and admire the colorful produce—from ripe summer tomatoes to fragrant autumn squash.

This optional market visit is not just about shopping; it’s a chance to connect with the rhythm of Roman daily life and gain a deeper appreciation for Italian ingredients.

Hands-On Cooking with a Roman Chef

After the market, you’ll head to the InRome Cooking school, located in the historic center of Rome. There, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of Prosecco and Italian antipasti as you settle in for your cooking adventure.

Under the expert guidance of your chef, you’ll learn to prepare a full four-course Roman meal from scratch:

Primo – A handmade pasta

Secondo – A traditional main course

Contorno – A seasonal side dish

Dolce – A delicious dessert to end on a sweet note

This is a fully hands-on class, so roll up your sleeves and dive into the techniques that have made Italian cooking famous around the world. The menu changes based on seasonal ingredients, and you’re welcome to request specific dishes in advance.

Enjoy the Fruits of Your Labor

After cooking, gather around the table for a leisurely sit-down lunch or dinner, enjoying the meal you've prepared paired with Italian wine, water, and soft drinks.

It’s a moment to relax, share stories, and celebrate the joy of cooking and eating together—just like Italians do.

This was a great experience. I've always dreamed of taking a cooking class in Italy. David was so patient with all of our questions and requests. He even took the time to explain the pros and cons of all the items we selected in the market. Each food course was super tasty. Who knew veal could taste thos good? I would recommend this as a group or even a private romantic class.

Giulio was absolutely fantastic! I cannot recommend enough! We started at the market to get our fresh ingredients. Then went to the school to cook! The food was amazing and learning to cook authentic Roman food was invaluable. Giulio’s teaching and sense of humor, made it unforgettable! 10 out of 10!

InRome Cooking Classes and David, our instructor/lead chef, was an absolutely amazing experience. He involved our 2 kids (9 and 11) in every step and helped us pick fresh ingredients and prepare a wonderful meal. Everything was wonderful and I highly recommend this experience!

David was an amazing teacher and helped us not only make an excellent meal, but explained the why behind his choices of ingredients at the market (picking the fresh food) as well as in the kitchen (with different cooking techniques. Definite highlight of our trip.
