Discover and Taste Roman Street Food | Private

Rome’s burgeoning street food scene is only getting better- there is a reason why the world’s best Chef’s travel accross the globe to try city’s legendary pizza.

Dotted around Rome’s last open air market, Campo de’Fiori, there are several artisinal food shops specialising in delicious snacks. We’ll take you to discover our favourite pizza al taglio, where long strips of pizza are topped with an array of toppings and then sliced and sold by weight and eaten on the go- no Roman can resist a piece of pizza bianca hot from the oven to be enjoyed on the run. A Suppli too is not to be missed: tomato risotto, stuffed with mozzarella, rolled in breadcrumbs and fried until golden– found freshly made in the city’s best pizzerias.

Then there are the friggitoria – here fried food rules. Whether it is a fillet of Baccala (salt cod) or fresh zucchini flowers stuffed with mozarella and anchovy and fried until oozing, we want you to try the best Roman fritti with an artisinal cold beer .

For dessert there will be gelato from an artisinal gelateria, served in a cone or a cup and we’ll encourage you to celebrate the Roman tradition of a large squirt of whipped cream on top. To conclude this moving feast a shot or hot espresso to re-energise you for the sunny afternoon ahead.

A great evening with plenty of incredible local food and drink and a really good way to meet and get to know other travellers. The small group size made it much more personal and conversation flowed all evening! Sara (our guide) was absolutely amazing - so friendly and chatty, and so full of knowledge about the local food and Rome/Trastevere's history. She could not have been better.
I'll be coming back to Rome and will definitely be booking this again. Thank you so much, Sara, for making my first trip to Rome that much better!

We got to try a ton of different food and even returned to one of the restaurants later in the week. The tour groups are kept small, so our group easily got to know each other throughout the tour. We were especially pleased with how accommodating it was: My fiance is a vegetarian and can be a bit of a picky eater, so he had low expectations going in and this ended up being his favorite activity all week! We actually had a couple of vegetarians in our group and there was always an equally hearty substitute whenever necessary. Super pleased with this experience and with Luca! Best part of our week! read less

This was a wonderful way to dive straight into Italian culture. I highly recommend this class as it was very intimate with the chef (only 3 couples) and one of the most memorable experiences from our trip. read less
