Pizza Making & Gelato Class | For Kids

With our Pizza Making and Gelato class, you will learn to make TWO of Italy’s most iconic creations. We’ll let you in on the secret to both including that age-old question: What is the difference between gelato and ice cream?

We invite kids to become real pizza makers while in Rome! Channel your inner pizzaiolo: the official name for pizza makers.

Pizza may have been born in Naples but Romans love their pizza too. They argue theirs is even better than in Naples with a crispier base and unmatched crunchiness!

With our English-speaking chef, a master of pizza, you will learn the secrets to kneading the perfect pizza dough. You will be able to go home and show off to your friends your new pizza-making ability. It only gets better when it’s time to start choosing toppings. We have the freshest ingredients ready for you to adorn your pizzas with: you can keep things simple with mozzarella and tomato or create your own signature pizza with everything from salami to Nutella!

The class will be set either in a fabulous 17th-century palazzo a few steps from Piazza Navona or at our brand new cooking school a stone’s throw away from the Pantheon. As we host you in classic Italian style, we will serve you drinks and local snacks such as Rome’s delicious suppli: steaming rice balls stuffed with mozzarella! While the pizza is cooking, the chef will show you how to make classic Italian gelato with farm fresh ingredients.

When you simply cannot wait any longer, it’s time for the whole class to come together and eat pizza and gelato in our 17th-century dining room. Buon appetito!

Well worth it, would love to come again! Perfect for adults and children alike, this class is poignant and fun. Led by professional chefs, this professional kitchen is upstairs, off a side street of a main piazza and not terribly far from the Pantheon (to help acclimate the location). First, meet nearby and be led a short distance to the actual site. Chefs show concern for safety and allergies/cross-contamination but be sure to make them aware of this ahead of time to give them a fair chance to prepare. Soda, water or wine are included. You'll be a full participant in the creation, no demonstrations where your time is limited to assist. The pizza (with array of toppings to choose to use) and gelato outcomes were fabulous, and recipes are provided at the end. Would recommend children to be at least elementary school age to really participate.

Amazing authentic experience Such an amazing class! We did the shared Pizza & Gelato making class. This was one of our favourite things we did in Italy! We did it with our children (4&7yrs of age). We also ended up paired with another lovely family with children the same age. It was such a fun evening!
The instructor was amazing, he encouraged the kids to do everything on their own. There was so much fun & laughter. Everything was perfectly organized. The food turned out amazing. We can't wait to recreate the recipes now that we are back home! We did this on our last night in Rome and it was a perfect ending to our trip.

A Wonderful Roman Experience We (party of 4 including grandparents and teenager) took a class in pasta making with 3 sauces. It was very interesting but also very fun. A very relaxed atmosphere and a wonderful teacher/chef in Giulio. The lesson is the first part and at the end we sat and ate our dishes - much more food than we needed, of course. Just wonderful!
