About Us

Who we are:

InRome Cooking grew out of a deep love of Roman-style, Italian food. Brother and Sister: Marilena and Salvatore Barberi, brought to life their dream of opening a cooking school. The school is in tribute to their father’s legendary restaurant near the Vatican.

After 20 years of hosting and guiding visitors around Rome, the Barberi’s now welcome you to learn Italian recipes from scratch while resting in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

The School:

Set in a fantastic historic apartment in the city center, meticulously renovated in 2016. The dining room has a 17th century, hand painted ceiling. And, the school has a sleek, modern kitchen with several stovetops and big marble tables.

Partaking in one of our unique classes is experential travel at it's finest. We specialize in market shopping & cooking with famous Chefs and wine tastings with the best sommeliers. We offer guests the awesome chance to immerse themselves in Italian lifestyle, cuisine and culture with locals.

Our countryside school in Castel Gandolfo:

This Spring 2019, in exclusive collaboration with the Vatican Museums, we are opening a cooking school at the Pope's farm in Castel Gandolfo. For the first time ever the fabled farm will be open to the public. The full day trip includes a visit to the Papal Palace, apartments and the elegant Barberini gardens, home to the ancient ruins of Emperor Domitian's summer palace including the amphiteatre and museum showcasing the excavated statues.

This extraordinary experience can only be booked and arranged through InRome Cooking. Our guests will be invited to the Pope's organic farm to cook using the fresh ingredients and taste the fabulous cheeses, honey, hams and more. This is a completely new and worthwhile way to experience the Vatican Museums, decongesting guests away from the centre of Rome and inviting them to the Roman countryside.

The teams & Chefs:

InRome Cooking’s consists of a booking team, the best English speaking Chef's and sommieliers. We also have a partner restaurant, Passetto, a 5 minute walk from the school  https://www.ristorantepassetto.it/
